This policy explains what Omek Gigs Appliances stores on your device when you use omekgh.com, why we store it, and how to remove it. It covers both cookies and browser storage, which do similar jobs.
What we store, and why
Things the site needs to work
These cannot be switched off without breaking the site, and none of them are used for advertising.
- omek_session — a secure, HTTP-only cookie that keeps you signed in for 30 days after you use a login link. We sign in with links sent by email or SMS rather than passwords, so this cookie is what stops you having to request a new link on every page.
- omek-cart-storage — your basket, kept in your browser’s local storage so it survives a refresh or a closed tab. It stays on your device and is only sent to us when you place an order.
- omek-wishlist-storage — items you have saved, kept the same way.
- omekgh_cookie_consent — remembers that you have seen the cookie banner, so it stops reappearing.
Measurement and advertising
These are set by other companies, not by us, and they can identify your device across other websites.
- Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, tells us which pages and products people look at so we know what to stock and what to fix. It reports on patterns across all visitors, not on you by name.
- Meta Pixel measures whether our Facebook and Instagram adverts lead to visits and orders, and lets us show adverts to people who have viewed a product.
Payments
When you pay, you are handed to Paystack or Hubtel, who set their own cookies on their own pages to process the payment securely. We never see or store your full card or bank details. Their policies apply while you are on their pages.
How to remove or block it
Every browser lets you delete cookies and site data, and block them for individual sites — look for “Privacy”, “Cookies” or “Site data” in your browser settings. On the site itself, clearing your browser data for omekgh.com removes your basket, wishlist and sign-in.
Blocking measurement and advertising cookies will not stop you shopping with us. Blocking the essential ones will: you will be signed out and your basket will empty each time you move between pages.

If we add or remove a service that stores something on your device, we will update this page. Anything materially new will be reflected here before it goes live.
