The Sigma SWM-T80FL is a front loading washing machine with an 8 kg drum and a top spin speed of 1400 rpm. It is fully automatic, so once you have chosen a programme the machine fills, washes, rinses and spins through to the end without you standing over it.

The cabinet is metallic grey with a black ring around the glass door. The detergent drawer, the programme dial and the LED display all sit in one strip across the top of the front.

• A full 8 kg load at a time. The drum is rated for 8 kg of dry laundry, which covers a small household's week of clothes, or a set of bedding on its own.
• Laundry comes out of the spin barely damp. The drum spins at up to 1400 rpm, wringing out more water before the washing goes on the line.
• Sixteen programmes, so the wash suits the load. The dial is ringed with named cycles rather than numbers, and you turn it to the one you want.
• Change temperature and spin on any cycle. Temp and Speed buttons sit next to the LED display, so you can adjust a programme instead of taking it as it comes.
• Set the wash to start later. The Delay button holds the cycle until the hour you choose, so a load can run while you are out or overnight.
• The motor sets its own speed. Sigma lists a DC inverter motor, which controls the drum electronically rather than running at one fixed speed.

A small hinged access panel sits low on the right of the front.
