The Sigma SSB-LY-S259P is a two part sound system for a television. A long black bar sits below the screen and a separate subwoofer stands on the floor, and the manufacturer rates the pair at 260 watts.
Sound reaches the bar by HDMI or optical cable from the TV, over Bluetooth from a phone, or from a USB stick. FM radio is built in, so the system still plays when the television is off.
- Sound with weight behind it. The system is rated at 260 watts, and the bass is handled by a separate subwoofer rather than squeezed out of the bar.
- No speaker cable across the living room. The subwoofer is wireless, so it only has to reach a power socket. You can stand it beside the TV unit or further along the wall.
- One cable to the television. HDMI and optical inputs are both provided, so you can use whichever socket your TV has free.
- Play from your phone, a flash drive or the radio. Bluetooth covers the phone, the USB port takes music files, and FM tuning is built in.
- Controls on the bar itself. A raised cluster of buttons on the end cap covers power, mode, playback and volume.
Both pieces are finished in black, with a mesh grille wrapped around the front of the bar and small feet underneath it.
