The Sigma SCF-M500 is a 500 litre chest freezer with two lids over two separate compartments. Sigma lists it as refrigerator or freezer switchable, so one cabinet either holds frozen stock or runs cold for drinks and produce, depending on how you set it.

The dial and the two indicator lights sit on the front of the cabinet, so you can check the setting or change it without lifting a lid and letting the cold out.
  • Room to buy in bulk. 500 litres takes a large stock of fish, meat and chicken at once instead of a top up every week.
  • Freezer now, fridge later. The model is listed as refrigerator and freezer switchable, so the same box can be turned over to chilled drinks and produce.
  • Open one side and the other keeps its cold. Two lids sit over two separate compartments, so you are not exposing the whole load to reach one pack.

The interior is lined in embossed aluminium and the condenser is mounted outside the cabinet, where you can reach it to dust it. A side basket keeps the items you reach for daily near the top, and there is a drain plug low on the front left. Sigma also lists power off protection for this model.
